Katarina Grobler is an Australian-Slovene pianist whose work centers on modern repertoire and the exploration of new voices in classical music, with a particular focus on female composers and contemporary music.
She has been invited to participate in international festivals including the Euregio Rhein-Waal Music Festival, Feuerwerk Akademie Einbeck, and Klaipėda Piano Masters, and has worked with distinguished artists such as Ewa Kupiec, Gintaras Januševičius, and Grigory Gruzman, among others.
Katarina has performed in venues including the Sydney Opera House and the ICC Theatre Sydney, appearing as both a soloist and orchestral pianist with ensembles such as The Metropolitan Orchestra and The Modést Orchestra. She was a finalist in the Sydney Conservatorium Concerto Competition and a recipient of the University of Sydney Vice Chancellor’s Global Mobility Scholarship.
Alongside her performance work, she engages actively with the cultural discourse surrounding classical music. Her projects include writing on contemporary issues in the field, directing a concert festival marking the 200th anniversary of Clara Schumann, and appearing as a host and guest speaker for the concert series Live at Yours.
A dedicated chamber musician, she has collaborated with ensembles including Ensemble Muse and the Dreambox Collective, which both focus on championing new music.
Katarina is a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she studied under Dr. Paul Rickard-Ford and Bernadette Harvey. At present, she resides in Vienna, Austria, where she continues to perform across Europe while refining her craft in private study with Gintaras Januševičius.
